Checking in and out of a Costa Brava holiday home

Quality Renting’s current conditions generally make properties available from 16:00 and require departure before 10:00, with advance communication for late arrival.

A smooth first and last day starts with a few simple arrangements. What time can you arrive, what if your flight is delayed, and when should you leave the house? Here is what to plan.

Check-in and check-out are easier when guests know the time windows before travelling. Quality Renting’s currently published conditions state that accommodation is generally available from 16:00 on the first day and ask guests to aim to arrive between 16:00 and 18:00. Departure is required before 10:00 on the final day.

If you are arriving later

The conditions ask guests who will arrive after 18:00 to inform Quality Renting in advance. They also refer to an additional charge when a late arrival has not been notified before 10:00 on the day of arrival. The practical key-handover method can vary, so use the arrival instructions supplied for the individual property.

Moment General published rule
Property available From 16:00 on arrival day
Requested arrival window 16:00–18:00
Late arrival Notify in advance and follow the booking-specific instructions
Departure Before 10:00 on the final day

Before setting off

  • Save the property address and local contact number.
  • Check the latest key-collection instructions.
  • Send your expected arrival time.
  • Notify delays rather than waiting until you reach the property.
  • Have required identification details ready.
  • Check any parking or access information for the villa.

Why is check-out earlier?

The period between 10:00 and 16:00 is used for the changeover: cleaning, linen, property checks and any urgent maintenance before the next guests arrive. Leaving on time is therefore not just administrative; a late departure can affect another family’s arrival. Guests should also follow the departure checklist for waste, dishes and property-specific instructions.

Do a final walk-through

Before leaving, check bedrooms, bathrooms, outdoor areas and charging points for personal items. Return keys in the prescribed way and report any damage or incident that has not already been discussed. This is easier than trying to reconstruct what happened after everybody has left the Costa Brava.

Frequently asked questions

Can I arrive before 16:00?

Do not assume early access. Ask whether it is possible for the specific booking; the property may still be in changeover.

What if my flight is delayed?

Contact the local team as soon as the delay is known and follow the late-arrival instructions.

Can I leave after 10:00?

Only if a later departure has been expressly agreed. The standard published departure time is before 10:00.
