Holiday-villa house rules: pets, guests, pools and cleaning
House rules protect the property, neighbours and next guests. Quality Renting’s current conditions include rules on pets, smoking, pools, nuisance and departure cleaning.
A holiday home should feel like somewhere you can relax, not somewhere you are afraid to touch anything. A handful of clear house rules protects the property and makes the stay pleasant for everyone.
House rules are not there simply to make a villa feel restrictive. A holiday home is also somebody’s property, often located among permanent neighbours and followed by another guest booking only hours after departure. Clear rules help prevent avoidable damage, nuisance and difficult changeovers.
Pets must be agreed for the right property
Quality Renting’s current conditions state that pets are only allowed in selected homes. They currently publish a charge of €25 per pet per week and warn that bringing an undeclared pet can have serious consequences. Guests should therefore use the property’s pet information and booking confirmation rather than assuming that every villa accepts animals.
Pool and fire safety
The current conditions prohibit glass around the pool area. Smoking is prohibited inside the villas, while outdoor smoking requires particular care because of fire risk. On the Costa Brava, dry summer conditions make barbecue, cigarette and open-flame behaviour especially important. Follow any temporary local restrictions as well as the property rules.
| Rule area | Practical expectation |
|---|---|
| Extra guests | Do not exceed the agreed or legal occupancy and do not add overnight guests without approval. |
| Pets | Only where permitted and declared in the booking. |
| Pool | No glass around the pool; follow property-specific safety instructions. |
| Smoking | No smoking inside the villa. |
| Noise | Avoid nuisance to neighbours and comply with local/community rules. |
| Departure | Remove rubbish and leave kitchen equipment as required by the departure instructions. |
Cleaning is not a licence to leave everything behind
Quality Renting currently publishes a separate final-cleaning charge depending on the property, but its conditions still ask guests to remove rubbish, empty the dishwasher, clean used grill/oven/microwave equipment where applicable and collect used bedding as instructed. Exceptional additional cleaning may be charged when the contract permits.
A smooth final morning
- Check the departure instructions the evening before.
- Dispose of rubbish in the correct containers.
- Empty the dishwasher and deal with used kitchen/grill equipment.
- Collect linen as instructed.
- Check pool and terraces for toys, glass and personal items.
- Report accidental damage rather than hiding it.
